Twistori – good as it is, but better if it could be refined

Twistori is an interesting mashup application,  the first step in an ongoing social experiment; it’s based on twitter. inspired by wefeelfine and drawing data from summize, hand-crafted by amy hoy and thomas fuchs.  Social Media Today has a post about Twistori: another time sink which doesn’t say much beyond the title.

It’s the handcrafted part – [...]

Global Deflation in the trail of 9/11

Lately, maybe it’s due to Social Media Fatigue (or just a busy life), I find a need to have an emotional connection with a subject or topic before I want to write something about it.
Reading my RSS Feeds this morning, I found much that was interesting but few things that I had anything to say [...]

Keyword Search sucks – TechCrunch

Ok, I agree Keyword Search does suck and so does TechCrunch – Is Keyword Search About To Hit Its Breaking Point? more or less, but I didn’t need that post to tell me that keywords search sucks – I have been saying that for the last 5 years.
Sure, with 100 times more content now than [...]

People Search Less for what they’re not interested in

I have always believed that search demand for a keyword phrase and how much someone searches for it is closely tied with their need for it. It’s hard to search for food when you’ve just eaten a large meal but much easier to search when your hungry.

Tweetup on 79th Street – Social Media at it’s best

I find it’s much easier to find people now, via Twitter and Facebook, and meetup, or should I say, Tweetup, for events. Here’s an event I went to on Tuesday night at the 79th Street Boathouse in NYC -
Description: 79th Street BoatHouse Tweetup on 4-21-08 NYC [...]

While the positions of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are fairly similar on most [...]

Twitter Uptime

I guess Twitter really doesn’t have any competiton, any meaningful competition yet, in the micro blogging space according to a post at TechCrunch Twitter May Not Have To Care About Uptime Any Longer
Without any government intervention at all Twitter has created a de-facto monopoly in the micor-blogging space. We all know from experience that it [...]

Web Analytics Association and Internet Advertising Bureau working together on Web Standards

I’ve known about this for a month or two but a statement was just now released on the WAA site that states The Web Analytics Association and the Interactive Advertising Bureau Increase Collaboration on Web Metrics Standards
The WAA and the IAB have historically had different goals for metrics standardization. The WAA’s mission is to foster [...]

Google Recent Searches To Influence Search Results

Interesting post at Google Operating System on Recent Searches To Influence Google’s Results but I don’t think this is going to end up making Google much more useful than it already is / isn’t:
Until now, Google personalized the results based on the search history only for users that were logged in and enabled the Web [...]

So what else is new, now everyone wants to run ads on blogs – including Six Apart, according to TechCrunch – Six Apart Launches Ad Network, Moves Into Services – Yawn, I mean, i’ll work, but probably not spectacularly – will depend on the quality of the blogs the ads are run against and the [...]
